Procedural Sand Texture
This was a fun exploration as I wanted a sand that would reasonably hold up in very close-up macro-style renders.
Two variations of the texture are shown here, with the larger sphere incorporating the waves like zen garden rake marks whose position are controlled by empties in the scene and can be individually placed by their relative distance to the textured object.
